How It Works

ATX Writing Club is a seasonal membership for Austin writers who want protected time, thoughtful readers, and a reason to keep going.

We open membership on four days each year—once at the start of each twelve-week programming season. Each opening is a real deadline: a moment to join, choose your writing table, and put the work back on your schedule.

The member calendar includes writing rooms, book clubs, author talks, and salon dinners. Separately enrolled feedback groups, workshops, novel courses, and publishing sessions offer more ways to develop a project.

The Membership

OUR FOUR OPENING DAYS

  1. 01December 1
  2. 02March 1
  3. 03June 1
  4. 04September 1

Each season begins with one enrollment day for new ATX Writing Club members.

Four opening days let us plan the right number of seats, rooms, and small-group events. The club starts together, and every new member has somewhere useful to show up.

Join the waiting list whenever you are ready. Before the next opening, we invite a limited number of writers to review an offer. If invited, you can decide whether to accept a $199 membership charged every three months. Once your membership is active, you can take part in member events; renewal continues every three months until you cancel.

Membership is charged $199 every three months. You can cancel at any time and keep access through your current paid billing period. The twelve-week season describes the programming calendar, not the billing period.

What Membership Includes

Membership is a season of places to write, people who notice your work, and events that make a solitary practice feel supported.

Writing sessions protect three hours to draft or revise. Book club sharpens close reading, and author talks make the writing life less mysterious. Separately enrolled feedback groups and publishing sessions offer other ways to work on a project.

Workshops, novel courses, reading nights, and salon dinners offer different ways to learn and meet other writers. Courses and paid industry sessions require separate enrollment; member prices can mean potential savings of more than $900 compared with public prices when you choose qualifying programs.

How a Season Feels

A season lasts twelve weeks. Your membership unlocks the calendar, where you can reserve events that fit your project and schedule.

Some members build around Saturday writing rooms. Others add feedback, book club, author talks, workshops, or reading nights.

There is no required attendance plan. The point is enough useful structure to make returning to the work easier.

Most events are in person in Austin. Dates, venues, and seat counts are shared when each season opens.

Membership renews automatically at $199 every three months.

You can cancel anytime. Canceling stops the next renewal; access continues through your current paid billing period.

If you return later, join the waiting list for a future opening day, subject to space.
